Toby Keith Raises $1.175 Million For Charity

Toby Keith— an American country singer, songwriter and record producer— continues to amaze fans with his passion for philanthropy. Throughout his life he has contributed to causes such as abuse, disaster relief, education, poverty, cancer, youth and many more. The Make-A-Wish Foundation, Nevada Cancer Institute, Starlight Children’s Foundation, The Salvation Army, United Way, ACM Lifting Lives, Ally’s House and Feeding America have all been supported by Toby Keith.

This year the 13th Annual Toby Keith & Friends Golf Classic for OK Kids Korral raised $1.175 million! The event was held on June 3-4 in Norman, Oklahoma, where Toby Keith hosted the celebrity golf tournament as well as a gala and dinner sponsored by Asleep at the Wheel. They auctioned off items such as a golf package that visits five Irish castles, a South African rifle and bow, a framed and signed piece from the estate of Ronald and Nancy Reagan and a rare signed album by Elvis Presley.

The Toby Keith Foundation, created in 2006, “has been serving children with cancer through partnerships with hospitals, caregivers, foundations and civic groups.” Through The Toby Keith Foundation emerged OK Kids Korral, which “provides a cost-free, convenient and comfortable home for pediatric cancer patients receiving treatment at The Children’s Hospital at OU Medical Center, Peggy & Charles Stephenson Cancer Center and other nearby facilities (www.tobykeithfoundation.org).”
