Simply For Sight Benefit Beats Its Goal

The Simply For Sight event on Sunday, October 19th, at Lindenau Hall in Cuero, Texas, benefitting the Candyce Lane Henwood Gene Therapy Research Fund has far surpassed its goal!

Organizers of the event hoped to raise $100,000.00 for the Fund. They are pleased to announce that $280,000 was raised.

According to Candyce Henwood, "Our goal was $100,000 and we raised so much more! I want to thank everyone for their support! I am so beyond blessed...and overly excited right now. Thank you so much for your help."

The event kicked off at 3 p.m. Sunday, with a DJ, Cowboys game on the big screens, Live Auction, and Silent Auction.

Entertainment was provided by local favorites Smoky Wilson and Matt Thigpen, with Cuero native, Nashville singer/songwriter Jo-Leah performing, accompanied by Les Richter (The Drifters).

All proceeds raised will benefit the Candyce Lane Henwood Gene Therapy Research Fund.
