"Darius and Friends" Announced for June

Darius Rucker announced the date for his eighth annual "Darius and Friends" benefit concert, which will take place on Monday, June 5, to kick off the CMA Fest in Nashville, taking place from June 8 to 11. For the first time this year the benefit concert will be held in the historic Ryman Auditorium in Nashville. "Darius and Friends" benefits St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

The singer and songwriter is worldwide recognized for his charity work. He committed to raising money for St. Jude since he visited the campus in 2008. Previously this year Darius Rucker was honored with the Randy Owen Angels Among Us award for his long-time support for St. Jude by St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

The hospital treats and tries to defend childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases. The parents have to pay nothing for the treatment of their children. Through St. Jude thousands have been saved, not only through treatment, but also through discoveries made by St. Jude. The things that St. Jude does are funded by events like Darius Rucker's benefit concert.

Darius' annual concert has raised more than $800.000 over the years. For the concert he performed with friends that included Luke Bryan, Radney Foster, Randy Houser, Jamey Johnson, Charles Kelley and Kenny Rogers. The line-up for this year's "Darius and Friends" concert will be announced in the coming weeks.

Tickets to “Darius and Friends” will be available on Friday, April 14 at 10 a.m. CT via ticketmaster.com.
