T.J. Martell Foundation to Receive Prestigious Award at Music Biz 2016
Serving as the music industry’s largest foundation funding medical research that focuses on finding a cure for Leukemia, cancer, and AIDS, the T.J. Martell Foundation is no stranger to serving its community. With four decades of charitable and philanthropic contributions under their belt, it was no surprise when it was announced that the T.J. Martell Foundation would be the recipient of the distinguished Harry Chapin Memorial Humanitarian Award at the Music Biz 2016 Awards. The award will be presented at the Awards’ Luncheon on Wednesday, May 18, at the Renaissance Nashville Downtown Hotel.
Music Biz, or The Music Business Association, is a non-profit membership organization geared towards advancing and promoting music commerce. Focusing on recognizing an outstanding organization at their annual conference being held in Nashville for the second year, Music Biz selected the T.J. Martell foundation for all its extensive efforts to raise money for leukemia, cancer, and AIDS research.
Having made a promise to his son that passed away, at the young age of nineteen from Leukemia, veteran music industry executive, Tony Martell founded the T.J. Martell Foundation in 1975. Since the passing of T.J. Martell, the foundation has raised $270 million for research. The T.J. Martell foundation is devoted in their objective to find a cure for cancer and AIDS. It will be an immense honor to receive the renowned Harry Chapin Memorial Humanitarian Award.
